“We have no place for  a woman at the conductor’s department”. Marina Tretyakova heard such words when she was passing the admission exam at the Belarusian State Academy of Music. Nevertheless, she entered there and successfully finished her learning and got the job in the symphony orchestra at the Belarusian State Musical Theater in Minsk. Today Marina Tretyakova is the only woman who runs such an orchestra in Belarus. What is more, she conducts a choir and teaches at the Academy, in which she wasn’t welcome before.
